Nicole Richie is telling friends the reason she was on Vicodin was to treat menstruation cramps. She’s allegedly upset over media reports that she’s addicted to pills and insists she only “occasionally” takes Vicodin once a month at the start of her period.

Richie is also unhappy that California cops listed her weight at 85 pounds on the police report because “she’s so proud of her weight gain,” says the source, who adds that Richie has gained about ten pounds in the last two months and actually weighs around 95 pounds. “She doesn’t know where the cops came up with 85 pounds and it’s annoying to her.”

I dont understand why shes doesnt just go on the pill! That usually stops the cramps and helps with acne. And it increases your boob size too! So for her it would benefit Nicole greatly. Maybe shes should reconsider instead of taking Vicodin..

TMZ has learned that Nicole Richie was arrested for DUI early Monday morning. She was booked at 4:50 AM today and was released 45 minutes ago. The booking sheet reveals Richie is 5′1″ and 85 lbs.

Law enforcement officers tell TMZ, Nicole Richie admitted she had taken Vicodin and smoked pot.

A rep for Richie could not immediately be reached for comment.

We’re told her SUV was spotted by two motorists going the wrong way on the 134 Freeway in Burbank. The drivers called 911. When the CHP responded, Richie was stopped in the carpool lane and was alone in the vehicle. When cops approached the vehicle, Richie was on her cellphone.

Her booking revealed that she is shockingly only 85 lbs. So much for cleaning up her act. Let’s hope this cry for help makes Nicole really get straight this time.

The Smoking Gun has a copy of Nicole Richie’s DUI booking sheet from this morning and compared it to her booking sheet from February 2003 when she was arrested for heroin possession. Apparently in the three year span between arrests she’s shrunk one inch, lost 5 lbs, and changed from white to black.

Joel Madden has jumped back into the dating game after his split with Hilary Duff he is reportedly romancing Nicole Richie.

The singer and Richie were spotted out at Hollywood hot spot Teddy’s at the Roosevelt Hotel on December 2, less than a week after Madden confirmed he split with Duff.

According to Us Weekly, they were spotted holding hands and dancing, with one clubgoer adding, “Nicole couldn’t stop smiling. I’ve never seen her happier.”

The following night, the new couple hit the town again, joining Madden’s twin brother Benji and his Australian girlfriend Sophie Monk for an intimate dinner at the Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills.
